Open and Affirming
Open and Affirming (ONA) is a UCC designation for congregations which make a public covenant of welcome into their full life and ministry to persons of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.
Our Covenant
Through God’s grace, we seek to welcome all persons into our church family by removing barriers and embracing differences of sexual orientation, gender identities and gender expressions, marital status, age, mental and physical ability, as well as racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We encourage all to share their diverse gifts in the full life and ministry of our church.
God is Still Speaking
We believe that God is still speaking and its our responsibility to listen. “Still speaking” is a short hand form of “God is still speaking,” a campaign by the UCC to remind us that God still has a lot more to say.

Stay after worship on Sunday, 10/18, for the great semi-annual Running of the Rummage! Wear comfortable clothes to church and be prepared to be part of an impressive afternoon as we move all of our rummage sale treasures into the Fellowship Hall. Many hands make light work—and make the Running of the Rummage a lot more fun!
Last week, our remote ministerial assistant, Axel, spent some extra time meditating over the hymnals as I prepared to choose music for Sunday’s service. It makes sense that the choice of hymns might need a little extra support. Hymns are such an important part of worship. When we sing together, our individual voices become one, joining us together in worship. Hymns also give us a way to respond to what we have heard and experienced in worship, and the words and melodies we sing on Sunday can return to us in times of need, offering guidance, encouragement, and hope. When Axel finally moved on and allowed me access to the hymnals, I felt a little more grounded in God’s grace and peace as I took up the task of choosing what we will sing together on Sunday.
On Sunday, 10/18, we will be blessed with a message from our guest pastor, Sana DelCorazón. Rev. DelCorazón (she/they) is the daughter of Puerto Rican migrants who grew up Pentecostal in Philadelphia, PA. After earning a Master’s degree in Public Affairs at Princeton University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at Smith College, Sana worked in social services and community mental health. Although this was very satisfying work, God had other plans. During the pandemic, she finally pursued her 10-year call to ministry – which brought her to her new home state (Minnesota) where they graduated from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities with a Master’s in Divinity. Sana is in the process of becoming a certified interim minister specializing in helping churches in transition – when they are ripe for change and growth! Sana is a licensed and practicing clinical social worker (yes, a therapist specializing in trauma, family estrangement, and working with marginalized folks), spiritual director, writer, community organizer, salsa dancer, former stay-at-home mom and PTO president, perpetual student and lover of life. Their passion is guiding people, organizations and systems through transformational change that centers love, justice and liberation. Sana is interested in the evolution of the church (body of Christ) and the intersection of racial justice, trauma-informed ministry, reconciliation, and the beloved community. She resides in the greater metro with her tween and partner.
